Diagnóstico y tratamiento de la enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico en pediatría: revisión bibliográfica

La enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico (ERGE) en pediatría es una patología frecuente que puede manifestarse con síntomas variados, desde regurgitaciones y vómitos hasta complicaciones respiratorias y esofagitis. Este artículo de revisión aborda los aspectos fundamentales para el diagnóstico y tratamiento de esta condición en la población pediátrica, destacando la importancia de diferenciar entre el reflujo fisiológico y la ERGE patológica. Para el diagnóstico, se enfatiza el papel de una anamnesis detallada y la exploración clínica, complementadas en algunos casos con estudios específicos como la pH-metría o la endoscopia. En cuanto al manejo, se revisan tanto las medidas no farmacológicas, como cambios en la alimentación y posición, como las terapias farmacológicas basadas en inhibidores de la bomba de protones y antagonistas H2. Asimismo, se discuten las indicaciones quirúrgicas en casos refractarios. Este artículo busca proporcionar una guía actualizada y práctica para optimizar el abordaje de la ERGE en niños, promoviendo un manejo individualizado y basado en evidencia.
