Manejo inicial del paciente politraumatizado en el servicio de urgencias – Revisión narrativa

El manejo inicial del paciente politraumatizado en el servicio de urgencias es un proceso crítico que requiere una actuación rápida, organizada y basada en protocolos estandarizados. Este artículo de revisión narrativa aborda los aspectos esenciales en la atención de estos pacientes, desde la evaluación primaria hasta la estabilización inicial. Se destaca la importancia de aplicar el enfoque ABCDE (vía aérea, respiración, circulación, discapacidad y exposición) para identificar y tratar lesiones que comprometan la vida de manera inmediata. Asimismo, se revisan las herramientas diagnósticas disponibles, como la ecografía enfocada en trauma (FAST) y la tomografía computarizada, que permiten una valoración más precisa de las lesiones. El artículo también subraya la relevancia del trabajo en equipo multidisciplinario y la comunicación efectiva para optimizar los resultados clínicos. Finalmente, se abordan las consideraciones éticas y logísticas inherentes a la atención de estos pacientes en contextos de alta presión. Esta revisión busca proporcionar a los profesionales de la salud una guía clara y actualizada para mejorar la calidad del cuidado en los servicios de urgencias.
