Técnicas mínimamente invasivas en ortodoncia y su efecto en el tejido periodontal

Resumo

Las técnicas mínimamente invasivas en ortodoncia han emergido como una alternativa prometedora para optimizar los tratamientos, minimizando el impacto en los tejidos periodontales y mejorando la experiencia del paciente. Estas técnicas abarcan procedimientos como el uso de alineadores transparentes, microimplantes, corticotomías y dispositivos de anclaje temporal, los cuales buscan reducir la necesidad de intervenciones quirúrgicas extensas y disminuir el tiempo total del tratamiento. Su implementación ha mostrado efectos positivos en la preservación de la salud periodontal, al limitar el daño a estructuras clave como el hueso alveolar y las encías. Sin embargo, su éxito depende de una adecuada planificación y ejecución, así como de un control riguroso durante todas las etapas del tratamiento. La literatura existente destaca que, aunque estas técnicas representan un avance significativo en la práctica ortodóncica, es fundamental evaluar cuidadosamente cada caso para identificar las indicaciones precisas y prevenir posibles complicaciones. Este artículo revisa de manera narrativa las principales técnicas mínimamente invasivas utilizadas en ortodoncia, su mecanismo de acción y su impacto en el tejido periodontal, proporcionando una visión integral que contribuye al entendimiento y aplicación clínica de estas innovaciones en beneficio de los pacientes.
